HRKC 2025 Season Kickoff – Collective Practice Day Recap & Season Preview

The 2025 season at the Hamilton Regional Karting Club is officially underway, and what a way to start! Our Collective Practice Day was a huge success and the perfect kickoff for another year of close, competitive karting.

Despite some ominous clouds and strong winds, Mother Nature held off just long enough. The rain mostly missed us, giving drivers plenty of dry track time to shake off the rust and and dial in their setups for the year ahead. From early morning until the last session, every group took full advantage of the track time.

It was great to see a strong mix of rookies and veterans filling the paddock. Many first-timers were getting a real taste of what karting life is all about—from mounting transponders, setting tire pressures to, in some cases, bolting on up to 60 lbs of lead weight just to make minimum class weight! Every champion starts somewhere, and we’re thrilled to welcome the next generation of racers.

Returning champions and club regulars were also back in full force, ready to do battle once again. And judging by the lap times, we’re in for one of the most competitive seasons yet. In almost every class, the top times were separated by mere tenths and sometimes just hundredths of a second, setting the stage for season-long battles and thrilling race-day drama.
